Celebrating Our Climate‑Ready Classroom Award Achievement May 2026 - The Weatherbies visited our school today to help us celebrate receiving this fantastic award. They were delighted to see all the wonderful eco‑work happening in Nursery and how we use their characters to help our children learn about climate change from such a young age. Their visit recognised the creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment shown by our pupils as they explore weather, sustainability, and caring for our world.

'Apple Pressing'

19th Oct 2022

Today, we had some very specail visitors to our Nursery School. Some children from Siant John's Primary School with their teacher Mrs Darmody came to help us pick apples from our garden orchard. These children were from Mrs Darmpdy's Eco club and some were brothers and sisters of little boys and girls from Mrs Doherty/Mrs Woods class. Gareth Lamrock, who is our field officer from Eco-Schools brought his apple presser and helped the children and the taeahers to press apples to make our very own Apple Juice!! It went down a storm!!! and everyone enjoyed the taste of the freshly squeezed juice!!!! We were so delighted to see the big Siant John's pupils in our nursery and we even got a chnace to play with them! The sand tray with cauldrons, seemed to be a big hit with the Primary 6 pupils!! Thank you, to Gareth and all the pupils from Saint John's P.S. for coming to viist us alongside their teacher/Eco co-ordinator Mrs Darmody. We look forward to another visit again really soon!!!
